Al Dube Abbeville, Georgia | There is a lot of history behind F-15B 73-0108.A part of that history is the fact that Brig.Gen.Robert L.Scott,Jr.who wrote the book God is my Co-pilot and The Day I owned the Sky flew this F-15B on July 25th 1988 at Dobbins AFB,Ga.This aircraft was painted the usual light and dark ghost gray paint scheme in Ga.air National Guard markings with Gen. Scott's name painted in the name block.I have the only 1/32 scale Revell model of 73-0108 in these markings modeled for the day he flew this aircraft. And I'm very proud to have it. The former Commander at Dobbins AFB,Ga. B.Gen Charles W. Taylor Jr. of The 116th TFW of the Ga.air national Guard and I worked for 9 months with The Dept of the AirForce to get the flight approved. It was to celebrate Gen. Scott's 80th Birthday and it's a day in history Gen. Scott and the rest of us will never forget.B.Gen. Scott will be turning 97 on April 12th 2005.I am now working on F-15B 73-112 that also had Gen. Scott's name in the nameblock in 1/32 scale. This was a backup B model for that day on July 25th 1988.Keep up the good work.Excellent website. 02/18/2005 @ 14:38 [ref: 3821] |

MSgt Robert E. Johnson, USAF, Ret. Surprise, Arizona | I was assigned to the 4510 Combat Crew Training Wing (Fighters) during the late '60s and early '70s. I am attempting to locate a patch representing the organization. In order to have a patch manufactured, I am obligated to purchase 50 to 100. Anyone possessing the original patch, and interested selling or providing the dimensions, I would appreciate a letter. I currently have a photograph and the description of the patch obtained from the Base Historical Office. Robert 04/12/2002 @ 14:13 [ref: 2031] |
Elizabeth Booker , Ontario | My family and I visited the display at Luke AFB in February of 2001. My Uncle is Retired Air Force and took us for a tour of the base. I am Canadian Air Force Reserve and found the trip exciting. The aircraft on display were in excellent condition and displayed beautifully. I especially enjoyed parking at the end of the runway and watching the aircraft practice their circuits. I hope to visit again someday soon. 09/21/2001 @ 11:37 [ref: 1464] |
