I am writing to ask for your help. A Cold War/Peace museum has been proposed for a long vacant S.A.G.E. (Semi-Automatic Ground Environment) direction center located on the grounds of Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, NY (formerly Stewart Air Force Base). Apparently, the British owned company that is currently operating the Airport has relaeased a new "Master Plan" that includes demolition of the S.A.G.E. building. How can you help? Just click on the link that I have included with this message and tell them what you think. The link is to the proposed museums' website. Thank you in advance for any and all encouragement, suggestions or support! http://www.coldwarpeacemuseum.org/home.html Best Personal Regards, Bob Shepard

The display that was set up in front of the FAA building, here on Edwards AFB, is now the home for an RF-4C, 1004. The YA-10B is still sitting out on a taxiway waiting for a place to call "home".

Was on my way from the Raptor CTF to 31TES Orderly Room, going SSW on Wolfe Ave, when I looked out over the lakebed and noticed that THE YA-10B is sitting on on the the lakebed access taxiways with an F-4 (think it's 0713).

The SR-71 and the A-12 listed here are also listed as being at Blackbird Airpark, Palmdale. The SR-71 that is actually on display here, at Edwards is not listed.

My name is Ascher Ward and I have been an entrepreneur in the field of rare aircraft for the past 50years. I am writing to you because I have two extremely unique airplanes that may be of interest to you and your museum. I have a Sipa Jet 200 which I have owned for the past 12 years. It is the first civillian turbojet to enter production for general aviation. This aircraft can be verified by the Smithsonian. Of the seven aircraft only two remain, mine and one in France which is also owned by a private collector and is not for sale. Sipa had hoped to also reach the military market as a trainer or a liason aircraft. The second aircraft I have is a full scale replica of the original Boeing P12. There are no originals left in existence and this replica is the only example of this plane. It was built by the late Thomas Crowder approximately 20 years ago. It was built from copies of the original engineering drawings held in the archives at the Smithsonian. The aircraft has an early 1340 Pratt Whittney engine this is the same that is in the original P12. I have done many trades with the United States Air force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. The museum director at that time was Colonel Richard Upstrom. I acquired rare airplanes which the museum needed for their collection. For example: DeHavilland mosquito, DeHavilland Repedie, Northrup c-125, Lockheed Loadstar Fokker D-7 (original) this aircraft belonged to the late Cole Palen. Ryan STA (Air Force version) Fairchild C-82 (Packet), Mig 21, Lockheed F-104 which is on display at the entrance to the museum mounted on a pole. There were countless other aircraft which went across the country to various other Air Force Museums under "The Heritage Program". The aircrafts were exchanged for other aircraft which was surpluss to their needs, and of interest to me. The exchange was then made. I will provide photos on request. Should you have an interest in a purchase or an exchange, for an aircraft or aircrafts which are surpluss to you, perhaps we can work out a favorable exchange. Sincerely, Ascher Ward

During www2 i was stationed at murock test base (dry lake) and then Palmdale where we tried to get the p80s and p59s in shape for combat. by the time we were set to go over seas, the war was over. edwards , as it is called now, has come into it's own. we use to have a pass to a certain hanger with guard dogs and guards all around the area. the p59s were really used for pilots to get use to the faster p80s

I you are not a US national do not try to visit this museum ! It is on-base and unless you carry a US passport you will not be allowed to enter due to current security restrictions. These may be relaxed in the future so phone ahead before you make the drive... My experience was therefore a bit er....devoid of any actual aircraft.
