robert mcguffin North royalton, Ohio |  I flew corsair August, sept. and oct. 1944 and the traffic pattern was unbelievable. There was accidents every day. Lost one of our eight in our group. The corsairs were Brewster built and no electric start and all bird cages. Lucky to survive that training. Have some early patches

I spent alot of time with my grand father and listened to alot of stories about his naval carrier. I would like to come see tthis plane and see if there is any more information on my grand fathers history in the navy. My grandfather was Lt.Commander Patrick Byrne.

Mike Bordeaux Orange Park, Florida |  I am really glad to see someone or group decided to transfer the historic aircraft from Cecil NAS to NAS Jax and begin an aircarft museum, and is headed in the right direction to preserve this history. Since these aircraft were active, this base has undergone tremendous elevation changes over the years, and new visitors and military personnel will never know that historical portion. Yet, these aircraft on display reflects the role this base has played in history. I am also proud that my dad played a part in that history. He flew in the P2V with VP18. The latest acquisition of the biplane is awesome. Since these aircraft only represent a small portion of the aircraft history at the this NAS, it is the birthplace of the Blue Angels. I believe it would only be fitting to now have each aircraft the team started with and used while its home was NAS Jax instead of just having the current aircraft on display at the main gate. It was an injustice to dispose or relocate the F11F-1 that was at the main gate for over 20 years. It could have been moved just as the brick V was moved.
