Jeff , Ohio | This is a great 'small' museum, interesting displays and even a F14D. How many small museums have a Tomcat?
The DC-3 is NOT the only thing this musuem is made of - they have really done well to have a great many exhibits beyond the old Gooney bird. 04/09/2008 @ 16:39 [ref: 7285] |
Jim Adams , Wisconsin | If you are looking for the Signature Aircraft of the Priarie Aviation Museum you will probably not be able to find it. P.A.M. has completely lost focus and has encountered serious financial issues, basically through mismanagement. The insurans and recurring inspections have not been done. This plane is on the National Register of Historic Places and is now sitting on the ramp rotting through lack of attention. The museum focus is now on Vietnam era aircraft which are seen at all museums, F4, UH1, Corbra, etc. The museum has gone from classic to dime a dozen boring. 02/20/2008 @ 13:12 [ref: 6824] |
Harry Jackson Decatur, Illinois | Excellent Small museum....give yourself at least 2 hours to get a good look at their displays...The have a flying DC-3, repainted to the Ozark Airlines specs. They attend airshows all over in this beauty, and offere rides for a very reasonable price....I think it might only be 50 bucks...can you believe that? If I'm wrong, I'm not far off. Nice static displays of several planes and helicopters outside. Lots of info and soveniers, plus.....they're really friendly.....Top Notch.....Semper Fi` 11/11/2005 @ 17:04 [ref: 4579] |
Mark Houpt Indianapolis, Indiana | OUTSTANDING Museum. They are in the process of repainting all of their aircraft with authenticate colors and markings. One of the best, if not the best effort I have seen outside of the service museums on preserving the aircraft. Hospitable staff! Highly recommended for Naval Aviation buffs. 11/13/2004 @ 11:03 [ref: 3569] |
Jake Adams Boominton, Illinois | This facility is a great small museum the people are more then willing to help with any question you have and know the things they talk about. 03/24/2003 @ 19:21 [ref: 2813] |
Charles Micheals LaPorte, Indiana | I was given a wonderful personal tour of your
Ozark "C-47", by Chuck Schumaker. I was thrilled
to find this aircraft at your museum.
My father flew one like this in the early 60's.
Thank you! 11/28/2001 @ 19:40 [ref: 1658] |
Chuck Anderson Cambridge, Ontario | I am looking for any information on the : Aero Thrust Engine company of Chicago Illinois. The engine I own is a 2 cylinder, 2 stroke, horizontally opposed and is air cooled. Using the spark plugs and magneto system as a gauge, the vintage would be 1920's.
My hope is to obtain specifications, parts source, operating manuals and the like.
Any information would be great!
Thank you 11/25/2001 @ 12:10 [ref: 1653] |
