One of the best museums I have had the pleasure of touring. Airplanes are in good shape and displayed so that you can view all aspects of the aircraft. Great!

Looking to find anyone who remembers Edward C. Wigton, my father, who is deceased. Was stationed at Ellsworth and married mother there (Navy Nurse). I believe he flew B25, B17. Memories are great. I want to keep his alive. Thank you. Christine Thomas

I had my training as Flight Engineer on B17s in Dec. 1944. There were so many B17s there , one would think one B17 could have been saved for their museum. The local people I met were Great!

I was a test pilot for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft (engines) in the mid 1950s and we had an F-101 we used for testing and perfecting the J57 engine. With newly designed C-D nozzles giving more thrust, we were also the fastest a/c in the world at the time and the USAF borrowed our aircraft to set a new speed record of over 1200 mph in about 1956. We also had an unofficial altitude record of about 85,000'. The S/N of our aircraft was 426. Is it possible that our P&W experimental aircaft is now at your museum?? If so, I believe it was an "A" model, not a "B" as you suggest. I hope to see it some day.

I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB in 1952 and they had the B-36's there at that time, you do not mention them, why?

My comment is this: When I visited there with my son Steven On Monday,May 21st, we both enjoyed looking through your museum & all the aircraft outside on the grounds area. The tour of the base was also very nice. The most interesting thing we saw was that missle silo. Because the both of us have never seen anything like that before in our life. We would both give this Air & space museum including the base tour a: 5 star rating. It was all very excellent in a lot of ways. Everything was displayed so well; and the signs were very easy to read also. I would recommend your museum to my family & friends if they ever visited. THANK YOU! & GOD BLESS! PRAYERS ALWAYS, SR.BERNADETTE WARD

 Nottingham,

A fabulous diversion for any aviation enthusiast if your in Rapid for Mt Rushmore etc. Probably the best museum i've been to. Yes there are plenty or larger and more dramatic museums but nowhere are you so encouraged to get up close and personnal with the exhibits. No ropes restrain you, just strole up and be respectful to the beautifully present collection of aircraft. And what a collection, with some little gems hidden amongst them. Thanks for a great day and some great memories
