Charles E Anderson University Place, Washington | I entered the Navy in 1949 and was transferred to Whidbey into VP-931 in September of 1951. Our hangar could not occupy a Lockheed P2V-2 aircraft unless it was put on dollies and pulled into the hangar sideways.
We deployed to Kodiak when we returned to Whidbey, our personnel were flown back in two Navy R6V Constitutions.
We also stood alert for the seaplane base when the weather was to nasty for PBM flying boats to get airborne. Mostly good memories of shipmates and the Navy.
