Spent a lot of good times in C2s in Atsugi, & PI, with couple of Danang trips, in VRC 50 1968-70. Pulled mostly tool room duty and some flight line with turn up lic. Stayed in Cubi most of time.

Flew as a C-2 Plane Captain/Loadmaster from Dec 74 to Oct 88. Had flight time in all of the last 12 remaining original C-2's and 7 of the reprocured. Flew in VRC-50 Dec 74 - May of 78 and Oct of 81 - Oct of 88. Flew in VR-24 from June of 78 to June of 81. Have many great memories of flying and working in both squadrons. Any one from 50 or 24 drop me a line.

Hey all- I was aircrew on the C-2A in San Diego, VRC-30... Awesome job, fanstatic people... served from 84-90... had my first flight on the old C-1 then we tranistioned to the C-2's. Rode a Greyhound from CA to VA down around Cape Horn in South America following and supporting the Carl Vinson along its way. If anyone knows of any loadmaster or plane capt.s from that era have them send me a line.

I flew for about 35-40 minutes from SBA to the USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76 in this aircraft as a visitor/reporter. It was a incredible soft landing. A wonderful experience for a civilian that loves aircrafts. Best Regards

Flew em in VRC-50 (79-83) and later on with the help of Kurt Dismukes and Lt. Dave Church, we developed a training program and transitioned VRC-40 (86-90) from the C-1's to C-2's. Only catch was, "new C-2's expected next week". Yep they were new alright, they were 50's old C-2's transfered to 40, Received the reprocured C-2's a year or so later. Luckly Kurt and I had the old gouge for all the C-2's 50 had, and we had flown for years. Still in aviation with the justice dept, but i think of the cod days quite often and remember them as one of the best times in my life.

For you ex VR-24 guys, Do you have a spare squadron patch or if you had one, Decomm patch? I've always loved the VR-24 design and looking for either. Would gladly shoot a check for one if you can help me out.

Hope to be in the fleet some day, Fly Navy!
