Ray Moore Green Valley, AZ | I just saw a reference to tail # 47-121 in a email. I think that was still at Turner AFB in the 1370th in 1965. I remember most of the tail numbers and my even have a picture. 09/07/2006 @ 19:32 [ref: 14093] |
Ray Moore Green Valley, AZ | I was in the Air Force and worked with RB-50F while on duty at Turner AFB, Albany, Georgia, attached to the 1370th Photomapping Wing (1963-1966). I think we had about 12-16 of them (1947 tail numbers) and they were used to photomap the Atlantic and Pacific missile ranges. I have slides of them and my TDY duty on Eniwetok Atol in the Pacific where the 1370th was based for about 1 year. I would like more info about them and will glady share the slides and pictures I have. 09/07/2006 @ 19:05 [ref: 14092] |
Courtney, Richard Clinton, MS | When my father, "Courtney, Arthur Jr" retired he was a Technical Sergeant, with the 3507th USAF Recruiting Group. He served in the USAF from 1947 to 1968. He was killed in an auto accident in 1971. During his USAF career he served on a RB-50F, S/N 47-121, nose art name "The Cock'N Bull" assigned to the 55th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing. He was a SGT at the time. I have a photo of the crew with their RB-50F I believe was taken at Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico, during the "B50 Aircrew Familiarization Course #53-1024-B50" I will upload. I have been attempting to determine if any part of this aircraft still exist. It was sent to the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposition Center, Davis-Monthan AFB AZ in Jan 1966 and Dropped from inventory as surplus on Oct. 1967. 03/06/2005 @ 13:10 [ref: 9629] |
