I have seen these 46's in movies on Vietnam and seen them fly and have been fasinated with them since I was a kid. My fiance was a crew chief during the 80's. Just wanted to say I am proud of our Marines and sad to see the Phrogs go.

God Bless!

I worked on CH-46s in the early 80s. I was at MCAS New River assigned to HMT 204 and HMM 263. While I was with HMM 263 I did 2 Med Cruises. On USS Guadalcanal and USS Inchon. While on the Guadalcanal I was in a helo accident on Bureau Number 157709 it was a E model and had to be stricken. It had a bad case of salt water corrosion when it arrived at Cherry Point to be repaired. The accident happened in July and we did not return to CONUS with it until November. My second cruise on the Inchon was spent in Beirut Lebanon. I think about those Frogs that I worked on those many years ago all the time. When the last Frog flies for the Corps that will be a sad day they are a big part of USMC history. I will always have a special place in my heart for those H-46s.

I was a Crew Chief on the ch46e with HMM 263for almos 3 yrs and then with HMM 365 when I got short. I to think it is under rated and mistaken for the Cinook. I hate that. Too bad 263 turned into an Osprey traing squadron. I'm glad i wasn't there to see it. When we evacuated the US Embassy in Lebanon A/C 04 157690 was the last A/C out.

I'm retired from the U.S. Navy and was involved in a CH-46 crash at Naval Station Yokosuka Japan. in late 1973 or early 1974. Does anyone out there know the date this incident happened? The info. is very important to me.

Thank You

Dear reader,

I am a scale modeler from the netherlands. presently I am constructing the Sea Knight CH-46 D and HH-46A in scale 1/72. To save some space I have decided to fold the wings.
Is there anybody out there who is willing to help me in words and some photographs.
I am participating in modeling contests. So the sequence and the lining has to be correct.
Looking forward to your response.

Highest regards,

Derek
