| Ernest Eaton , ME | I was stationed at Travis AFB from Jun 58 to Apr 62 13th AMTS as a mechanic. We flew the C-131-A. What a beautiful airplane it was. I took pics of it when we had a photo/op flight over San Francisco and then up to Mt. Shasta. Can remember many of the airmen and sgts. We had a great softball team. I think it was 807 that we really fixed up with new carpet, window curtains, and most of the seats were matching. | Carl Donaldson Portland, OR | I was assigned to the 13th Aeromedical Transport Sq, Travis AFB, Calif. from Apr 62to Oct 65, I wasn't a med tech, but worked in the Orderly Room. I can remember several incidents where sq members showed outstanding performance of their duties. One that stands out in my mind was on a mission to Mountain Home, one of the aircraft lost a prop on take-off. The Pilot (Capt. | Carl W. Roth Manomet, MA | I was in the Air National Guard from 1970 to my retirement in 2001, from 1981 to 1987 I was a flight engineer on C131D S/N 54-2809. Is anyone else out there to make that claim to fame?? It was an absolute hoot. The people I met, the places we flew. My fellow crewmembers and I wil not forget "our" airplane.

| Rich Medina Placerville, CA | I submitted the pic of the C-131 in flight over the San Francisco area. We flew these in our Air Evac missions and was stationed with the 13th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Travis AFB, California. I was there from 1956 to 1958. It was a sweet aircraft and enjoyed my time there. I do not remember any of the Medics that were assigned there with me. | James H Robinson Belhaven, NC | We had several of these airplanes at Patrick AFB Florida. They were used for to carry passengers down the missile range when they first arrived. Later they were modified for electronic countermeasures and monitoring of the missile range frequencies. Had one that was empty except for an instrument used to measure refraction of radar signals. Had some flights with people aboard to observe how you could float around weightless. They would take the airplane up to about 30k feet, then start a decent down and you could experence weightless conditions for a minute or so. That was a real thrill. The airplanes used for countermeasures were special built. Inside that is. I was a radio operator and also helped with other duties aboard.
