In response to Ted's comment about the Minnie H, it is currently on display at the Cass County Historical Society's historic village at Bonanzaville in West Fargo, ND as of 8/1/07. It is in good condition and visitors are able to walk inside the plane.

Here is their website for more information www.bonanzaville.com

I have a slide of a USAF C-47 I took at Travis AFB Open House in 1968. The serial number is not 100% distinct. Possibilities are in the range 0-3XY7Z where X=3,5,8, Y=2,7 and Z=2,8 but 0-35772 is the most probable, I feel. The word WEATHER is on the fin.

I cant find 0-35772 or the other possibilities in Joe Baughers serial number web site. I am wondering if readers have any thoughts on this or suggestions of sources I could try. I would be most grateful for any help.

I am currently researching the crash of Skytrain 42-108874 (7H-U)of the 306th Squadron. On 17 September 1944,on the very first day of Operation Market Garden, this ship crashed at G(h)eel - Larum. Any information on the plane, crew and mission would be most welcome !

Myself and a few other A&P aircraft mechanics have been attempting to begin restoring a C-47. The only serious problem, of course, is money. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get some sponsorship money rolling in?
