73-1666 is a great aircraft. I worked R&D @ Edwrads AFB and was assigned to 666 during the early days. We had 4 pre-production aircraft on line, 666 had the first operational gun. Sam Nelson was one of our test pilots who raved about the aircraft. I started my career @ the Farmingdale plant and moved west with the aircraft. The crews and people were great, as was the aircraft. Have fantastic memories of the desert and the A-10.......
