| Nathan Volkening Bridegton, NJ | I remember reading a book that discussed the P-51 and F6F. i was mentioned that the Hellcat had a lower wing load than the mustang therefore turn tighter. But it depends a lot on the pilot as well as the plane. Look at the Flying Tiger they had

| Tom Generous , NC | There must have been some F6Fs serving in European waters where they might have faced Me-109s. I'm pretty sure the U.S. Navy sent CVEs in support of the invasion of southern France in August 1944. These ships should have been carrying Hellcats, not the old F4Fs that still flew off the CVEs in the Pacific at the time.

| Steve , MI | Wouldn't it be so cool to watch a "mustang" ace and a "hellcat" ace go at it, in a laser-tag dog fight? Finish that argument up. It might even work w/ scale RC's. There must be an air-show somewhwere in this beautiful country of ours willing to do that, Just a thought and a dream. Be a big money maker though. Geez, for that matter, dog-fight all the WWII aircraft, kinda' like a retro air street fighter. May the best plane win! Can't wait for the ME-109 vs. the Zero!
