Don S. Lepper AWCS (NAC) Ret New Richmond, WI | Was a plank owner when HSL-94 was established at NAS Willow Grove transitioned from SH3s to SH2s. Loved the mission and the helicopter served in 94 from Aug 85-Aug 89. The squadron had great people and we flew dets from the Estocin, Valdez, and Clark. Also drug interdiction and Autec dets. Flew with great guys Tony Petersen, Paul Laudani, Mike Smallwood, Mike Brown, Mark Richardson, and so may others. Hi Paul and Tony!! Sad to see it disestablished so soon. Wish someday to see many of the old timers at a reunion somewhere. 07/02/2008 @ 10:48 [ref: 21744] |
Mike O\'Beck Merrill, ME | I was a AMH and was around when the H-2 went from the utility role to the first LAMPS fittings. What a time we had learning how to work on the new more complicated birds! The AM's had a lot more metal and fittings and such to deal with not to mention dealing with making room for all the new electronics and an additional crewman's seat. The H-2 was a good bird. 05/28/2008 @ 14:58 [ref: 21042] |
Adam Hodge Marietta, GA | Hi All,
I'm looking for any old original HSL Squadron or Decomm Patches from old Seasprite squadrons (Excluding HSL-94, Unless there is a decomm). I'm 17 and trying to assemble a collection of HSL Squadron/Decomm Patches just for keepsakes and if anyone has anything they can donate or offer (I can send $$ if necessary) I'd really appreciate it. Just shoot me an email at HODGETCA@aol.com if you can help. :)
Thanks in Advance and Fly Navy!

Karl Rothermel Baton Rouge, LA | I was the Admin Officer for HSL-34 Det 7 that deployed on the USS Compte de Grasse (DD-974) for MED/IO 2-89. I came upon this page by accident and thought I would add my comments. I loved flying this aircraft, it was nimble and forgiving despite the beating it took. We had side number 230 (Greenchecker) and the airframe was older than me. I miss the flight ops and the good men that I served with. I was later assigned as MO for HSL-34 Det 4 with A/C 232 but left the squadron for my next assignment with HT-18 as a flight instructor right as Desert Shield started. 01/17/2008 @ 07:43 [ref: 19330] |
CWO3 Patrick Durden, USN-Ret Waunakee, WI | Hi Everyone--Paul, Greg, Marty--yes a lot of people are going to NHA which is in Norfolk this April--I haven't been to a meeting since 1993...it will be a good time.
You need to give your email address so we can stay in contact--also sign up at HSL-32 at Military.com--you contact all your OLD Friends there!

Paul Laudani Cohasset, MA | Hi Guys, I was an AW3 in HSL-32 (Hi Pat!) 1976-78. Did a Med/North Atlantic cruise with Det 9 aboard the Richard L. Page (FFG-5) with AX2 Steve Jones, AE3 Sid Brown, AT1 Jack Bloodworth and the others. Reenlisted for H-3 duty and to train reservists at NAS S. Weymouth, Ma (near home). A couple years later they took the H-3's and made us an H-2 squadron...sweet! Ended up at NAS Willow Grove, Pa. Got to AW1 then packed it in after 12 years. Had a great time in 32, are there ever reunions?? All the best.
