Wow!
I was stationed at Naha AB Okinawa in 1965. One of these came there as it had propeller problems. I was a two striper and the youngest guy to be authorized to perform engine run on C-130's at Naha.
When I cranked it up, I was amazed at how close all the engines were in TIT and FF...torque was the problem. After a few adjustments we had it purring again. But I will never forget what I had seen with my own two eyeballs, engines that were adjusted ohhh so fine!

Currently I still work on C-130's at Robins AFB...in my 45th year all together. Sorry folk's this old Crew Chief has never gotten over the C-130!!! I crewed the first Grey Ghost at Naha and lost it at Danang AB S. Vietnam to a rocket/mortar attack which busted the left wing right behind # 1 Engine...and a few years ago, I got to see the first C-130 I was assigned to 62-1842. My Crew Chief was Enrique Rodriguez...he taught me to learn as much as I could everyday...I guess I am still learning!

I was the crew chief on 461 .Iwas to take it to Nam and while there I would re-inlist however during the phase insp. we found a crack in the wing and it was replaced . On one occasion I completed the Pre-flight insp, signed it off Paul Snyder. My line chief sig ed the exceptional release. Percy Snyder and the pilot accepted the Acft Maj Snider.

Josh, there are two publications that have photos of the DC-130. The first is C-130 In Action, by Lou Drendel, Squadron Signal publications. There are two photos, and a drawing of a drone, as well as a color profile of the Coast Guard livery. The other is Vietnam: The War in the Air, by Rene Francillion. This one is out of print but I found it on Ebay for a decent price. It has several photos of the drones, drone carriers and retrievals. I am getting the same kit as you have, the Testors/Italeri one. It is the DC-130 with the four drone stations, as the later one has two stations so the external fuel tanks could be fitted ( according the my refences ). There is a DB resins conversion with the correct radome, which can also be found on Ebay.
