| M.Fiedler , IL | Stationed at Malmstrom from 73-77 as a jet mech and as a machinist in the 4677th/17th DSES.This was my first assignment out of Tech School.Worked in Phase dock and on the line, with Rich White, Brian Walsh, Pookie Juleich, Keith Horan, T.J. Romano, G. Jackson and all of the others listed by Rich White in his previous posting.The TDY"s were plentiful and at a variety of base's.As a machinist I was involved in the repairs of the EB-57 that had the "gear problem". | Ammons , KY | Steve, Good to hear that you remember my dad. He now works civil service for the Army. He definitely loved his car and talked about the top speeds that he would go. I think his accent has thinned out over the years, I hardly notice it and I live in MN. He was just telling me stories about Korea, mostly the cold. He has a lot of fond memories. | Steve Jackson Woodbridge, VA | Note to Ammons - Send me the email address of your old man, "Muff". He was definitely one of the most colorful characters in the "Disease" (17th DSES). He had the strongest southern accent I ever heard and would call my wife Maryann, "Maaaaaaaary", which annoyed her to no end. We had a wonderful ride in his brown corvette out to Belt one day (all three of us). I think we were pushing 130. Fun. Would love to reminice with him. Also have a good pictue of him in Tagu, Korea. | Ammons , KY | R. White, my father's name is Denny. I will have to ask him about the hunting story. He still loves to hunt and does so whenever he can. He has told me great stories about many of the men he was stationed with and what they did. It definitely makes me proud to know that he along with many others served their country. | RICH WHITE OMAHA, NE | JET TROOP FROM 1972-76.STATIONED WITH THE BEST MOTOR GUYS AROUND. MIKE ERICKSON, BILL MUSE,JIM BIDDLE, DENNIS "JAKE" JACOBSON, BILL "POOKY" JULIECH. WAS MY FIRST BASE OUT OF TECH SCHOOL. LOVED WORKING NIGHT SHIFT AND DOING THE TRIM PAD THING.TOMMY GRHAM ALMOST RAN ME OVER ONE NIGHT,DUE TO THE OIL ON THE PAD HE SLID AND ATE MY T.O AND A FIRE BOTTLE,BUT MISSED ME.(HE DID LOSE HIS RUN LICENSE FOR AWHILE).LOVED THE TDYS USA,CANADA AND ICELAND.ONLY LOST ONE AIRCRAFT, IN 74 I BELEIVE, IN KI SAWYER, BOTH EWO AND PILOT DIED.BEST STORIES,WOULD HAVE TO BE THE TEST PILOT WHO WAS DOING AN FCF AFTER ENGINE CHANGE AND HAD PARTIED THE NIGHT BEFORE AND WELL, ACCORDING TO THE REPORT THE LANDING GEAR SOMEHOW JUST SUCKED BACK UP WHEN LANDING...
