At the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum in Anchorage we have a Norseman owned by Jim Magoffin, Interior Airways in Fairbanks. It is complete and intact, we just have to recover and restore it.
We need a set of landing gear shock struts for it. Any ideas on where we could buy/borrow/steal a set?
Thanks, Orin Seybert (907) 243-7701

I am trying to find the color scheme or drawings or photos and any information on the uc-64 that carried Glenn Miller. I would appreciate reference information to help me accurately depict this aircraft in a 1/48 scale model. My search thus far has only found an alleged tail number, 44-70285. I need colors, paint scheme, etc. Please help if you can. Thanks...

Hello Norseman friends!

We, The Dutch Aviation Museum 'Aviodrome' are restoring a Noorduyn Norseman (44-70509). We found wartime items in it, so we think it was used in France from early '45 to the end of the War.

If you have any information about the use of the Norseman in France, please share it with us.

Thanks and best regards,

Arno van der Holst

Don't forget: The Immortal Glenn Miller (Band Leader) was lost over the English Channel on Dec 15, 1944 in a UC-64 Norseman on his way to a Christmas concert in France in support of the troops.

After 34 combat missions as a B24 navigator I was assigned to the 320th at Honington as squadron navigator.I later lead the 320th to LeBourget in Paris where I remained until November 1944. I have been trying to locate anyone who was there at that time. Tom Lynch, LTC USA Retired

I am the owner of Noorduyn UC-64A Norseman (Mark VI), formerly USAAF 44-70270, now Canadian registerred as C-FLZO. The aircraft is undergoing total rebuild (March 19, 2002) and will be returned to USAAF livery upon completion. Any USAAF photos and marking colour descriptions would be greatly appreciated. So far the 320th colours with the checker board cowling have caught my attention, what else was out there, and in what colours?

Served as a pilot 320th Air Transport Squadron based at Le Bourget field near Paris in WWll from Sept '44 to Feb '45. The Squadron flew only the C-64, transporting whole blood, oxygen tanks, and other medical supplies to forward field hospitals. On return flight evacuated either three litters or 5 walking wounded to Paris. The C-64 was crewed with a pilot, flight engineer and male medical technician. My aircraft serial number ended in ...389 and was painted the STELLA MAE.
