I was stationed at Udorn RTAFB during 1970-1971 and worked in the Phase Docks. I had my run-up and taxi license so spent a lot of time in the cockpit of T-28's performing pre/post 300 hr. phase inspection run-ups. The T-28 was a superb, rugged and versatle aircraft. I always enjoyed my time in the cockpit at the controls of the T-28 and also had many opportunities to fly in this great airplane. I still have pictures of the T-28's at Udorn RTAFB on my home office wall as a reminder of my military service in the USAF.

Hello Jay Ink, I hope you check this board again. My Father was Eugene D. Cowing who was your father's crew's navigator on the Ground Hog and on other planes they flew. My father passed away back in 1999. I was wondering if your father is still alive? I have some great photo's of the crew and of your father. If you would like to trade a bit of history with me please contact me via email. My family and I would appreciate it very much. John Cowing

I was stationed in Udorn from 7/1966 to 7/67. During my enlistment there I was assigned to the 432nd as a hydraulic mechanic on the T-28. Also was lead mechanic at the alert hanger for A/C #0-37644. Just before shipping back to the states for discharge I had the the opportunity to actually go up on a in flight check after I had replaced the nose gear damaged during a landing on it's way back from up north.
Have many pictures of the airbase, flight line,T-28's,F4's on the runway on their way to a mission over Vietnam. Also some pictures of down town Udorn. Anyone interseted, please feel free to contack me at RobertG1944@aol.com
