I was with HS-3 when we integrated the SH-3A (then known as the HSS-2) into the fleet. We had 16 aircraft in the squadron at that time, the side numbers were basically assigned as the planes were received from Sikorsky. They started, as I recall, at 50 and went thru side number 66. So this plane is likely an HS-3 orginal helo.

I'm a bit puzzeled by the serial number of '60'on the helicopter from HS-3. I was a member of HS-2 from 1962-65. We had '60' at Ream field in Ca. How did this happen? Anybody know?

Intersting fact? well maybe: The Sea King SH-3D played its
role in a Video Game. In the begining of the game Resident
Evil Nemesiss, they were used to drop the Umbrella troops
off in the city and later in the game it was shot down by
nemesiss with a rocket launcher. just thought you'd like
to know!
